Here’s an event we’ll hope you tuck away in your datebook: BEM is thinking of sponsoring a low-key rally of XK types in Spring 2008.

The “reason” for the rally is the 60^th anniversary of the XK and all subsequent designations that have used the XK engine. The British are planning to celebrate the anniversary at Goodwood and Cowdray Park next August in England. (Go to www.xk60.com/ for more information.)

We want to piggy-back on the UK rally and celebrate my 18^th year at the helm of BEM, as well as my wife and I having lived in Sonoma County for 21 years.

We’re looking to create a fun, low-key day where we can drive to a winery (or two, or three) with potluck picnics and have a lighthearted time.

Spring in Sonoma is special, with intensely green fields and bright wildflowers. Add abundant sunshine and some of the nation’s best and most appealing country roads to the mix, and you have the makings for a perfect Jaguar day.
